Regarding the 'penalty' : it was just millimetres outside the box but Scales fouled Cerny and the ref blew for a free kick. Therefore VAR could not intervene.

I was flabbergasted when some thought he was worth £15m last season, but I did appreciate his contribution. 

 

He's a good shot-stopper, but he lets in goals that he shouldn't, and he's not good with his feet. 

Join the club.  I would happily take cash for him in January.

Only my opinion but I believe Butland was signed with the single intention of selling quickly for a decent fee (£5-£7M), which is exactly what we have to do.

 

We signed Liam Kelly in the same window, so IMO he was / is Butlands replacement. 

 

However, Butland hasn't shown any evidence of being a £5-£7M goalie and we are now left with another high earner on a long contract that we can't shift.

There was a poor kickout for one but it still needed another couple of mistakes to concede the goal.
