That’s 2 Cup finals in a row this year Beaton has won for the yahoos (he was on VAR in the SCF)

let that sink in……

I find it hard to blame Beaton for the penalty incident. That goes on VAR.

Nothing will change until we get a high profile CEO will to confront the SFA, SPFL and them too. Whether Patrick Stewart is willing to step up and do that remains to be seen.

Agreed, although it needs to be done in a clever way. It can't be seen to appear as if we're just poor losers. Celtic used ex-players in the press, plus I firmly believe that the refs are being intimidated away from the pitch by the extremist parts of their support..

With so many ex-referees now posting their thoughts on social media immediately after games, I'd employ one of them and get them posting via our social media platforms highlighting these clear and obvious errors / honest mistakes.

Great idea, although need someone who appears neutral and doesn't have an official connection.

Agreed, it was a hard call for Beaton to make in real time as Cerny falls out of the box when pulled over.

VAR have no excuse for missing this as one look at the still and the replay clearly shows its a penalty. There is no debate or uncertainty, it's a penalty.

As for the extremist fringe of their support, you are 100% correct. I'd say it isn't just the extremist element who will participate in intimidation.

Why did Igamane chose to pass to Cerny here? Every time I see this it gets worse.

I think its a simple moment of hesitation.  Call it inexperience.  CVV however positions himself well, and makes him choose to go on the outside by narrowing the option on the inside. To take advantage of the extra man on the inside he may well have needed two touches and that would have given CVV time to hold up play to and get runners back into defensive positions.

I think he just took the easy option and passed to Bajrami when he could have slid in Cerny (it's not a difficult pass as he photo above shows).

However it's over and done with and we have to move on.

dB - hardly anyone plays with 2 strikers now; most have a no.10 behind - or two flanking wingers.

I know ... but:

- hardly anyone who does that plays in the Scottish league against the brick-wall brigade

- most who do this play people capable of playing in this role and can perform adequately

- I would only agree if we'd play Igamane on the left-attack role, Dessers through the middile and Danilo on the right ... and see how it goes. And to complete such a line up against e.g. Dundee or St. Johnstone ...

Butlland

Sterling - Souttar - Pröpper

Cerny/Matondo - Raskin/Barron - Hagi - Jefte/Ridvan/Cortes

The way we play is suitable for Europe, and in some games where the opposition is bold enough to play more open. Our plight is - and has been for years - that those meant to come up with goals from the wings are simply not up for that cause. Hence, you play with those you have in their best roles. I fear that we will start tinkering with Matondo and Cortes again on either wing, instead of unleashing our full attack potential at the opposition.

If we are reverting to 3 at the back, we need to sign 1, if not 2 centre backs. Balogun is fine but nearing end of his career, Propper has improved over last 2 games but I'm unconvinced and Souttar is fine when fit (we don't know how long he'll be missing).

Ridvan shouldn't be anywhere near our starting 11 and Cerny or Matondo aren't "wing-backs".

But agree that we should at least attempt to play 2 strikers in some domestic games.
