I did say I don't expect Dessers to start.

You say Dessers and Tavernier are inadequate but you also say they’re the best we’ve got. Does that mean you pick them for Sunday?

I don't pick the team and I'd say most of our team are inadequate.

I don't expect Dessers to start on Sunday that doesn't mean I wouldn't pick him if I was the manager.

I think Tav may start simply due to lack of a better all round option. Sterling is the only other option and PC has chosen to play Tav ahead of him recently.

I really don't see what point you are trying to prove here.

What I said (tired of repeating this), so far this season Dessers is our top scorer (fact) he has scored more goals than all 3 of Celtics front 3 (fact) so if we are looking to score goals, he's our best option.

Tav has for almost a decade been our top attacking threat (goals and assists), so again, if we are looking to score goals and create chances, he's our best option at right back.

Its the managers decision who he picks, there are arguements for Tav and Dessers starting and there are arguements for them not starting.

Thats the conundrum the manager faces in a game that could well decide if he is Rangers manager come next week.

I really don't think I can be any clearer than that.

Why not? Most people do. Hagi’s never been out in f mine. Dessers hasn’t been in it for weeks and Tavernier hardly at all this season. He’s found some form so he be under consideration after the cup final.

None. Only asking if you would select Tavernier ahead of Sterling and Dessers ahead of Danilo or Igamane.

I'd pick Tav over Sterling every week. Dessers would feature on Sunday. 50/50 on whether he'd start and if he did it would be over Danilo (due to him recovering from injury).

More I think about it more I'm leaning on starting Dessers. Our top scorer and scored in every round of this competition.

IMO we need to score 2 or more goals to win, so our top goalscorer surely has to start.

Just read a thread on Follow Follow that was a review of Ally McCoist's book. Anyway, in the thread someone has written that they never really rated Ally Mcoist as a player / striker.

What chance have out strikers got when we have people like that in our support.

I'd be surprised if Danilo doesn't start on Sunday. He can't play on Thursday so he'll be the freshest of the 3 strikers, assuming both feature at some point against Spurs.

If both are fit then I'd be surprised if Igamane also doesn't start against Celtic. He's shown enough in the last few weeks to demonstrate the potential that first attracted us to him, and that frankly I couldn't see in the games prior to Nice. He can hold the ball up, he's a nuisance for defenders to play against, he's got a trick and isn't scared to have a dig. He's still raw and inexperienced, but on current form he's our first pick I think.

Dessers has scored goals, some important ones too, but I wouldn't start him on Sunday. I think he does offer something coming off the bench though.

If everyone is fit then I expect Danilo and Igamane to start, probably with Cerny, the only surprise might be Sterling starting too, along with Tav, to offer better cover and energy.

Of course Thursday's match might change everything if we pick up knocks.
