CammyF 8,769
The most worrying aspect is the complete and utter apathy towards, and acceptance, of this contunied gross mismanagement from the majority of the fans. Impatient and unrealistic they scream, give them a chance to get things right they say. No thanks, times up. There's more chance of them closing us down than there is to make us a force against. Devil's advocaat 1,653
The story I heard from the Lammers transfer - and it's not the only transfer we've done this - is that the money we got from Twente for him was given to him to cover the difference in wages, or he wouldn't have left. So we made nothing from him, but got him off the wage bill. A shit show, and no wonder we get feck all in terms of fees for players when clubs know our financial position.
der Berliner 3,903
TM says that we received ... - Euro 2m for Lammers - Euro 590k for Cantwell - Euro 360k for Wright ... and I have no reason to doubt them. What might be the case is that we receive some money in instalments (Lammers, most likely). For decades, the Scum has been able to buy low and sell extremely high, especially to the EPL (namely Southampton). compo 7,440
We were once the mighty Rangers now we are no longer at the big table just another mob living hand to mouth you have to admire the board for their loans and their efforts to keep us going but I can’t see this lasting much longer no doubt this AGM will probably bring the old king of Castlemilk out from under his stone to criticize and to top it all we’ve got a final in a couple of weeks that I think we can win I’ll tell you why later .

Again it details the sheer incompetence of signing a guy and 12 months later being willing to take a multi million pound hit to get him off the wage bill. Amateurs, it’s astonishing any of these clowns have successful businesses. Edited December 5, 2024 by Sutton_blows_goats

Why not correct it at the time? (I suppose the answer is obvious..) Who reported it?

Db cited one example of transfermarkt web site reporting circa 2 million. Rangers review reported 2.5 million. https://www.rangersreview.co.uk/news/24480289.rangers-sam-lammers-transfer-windfall-payouts-due/ Serveral other outlets reported similar iirc.
