The Rangers Winter 2025 Transfer Rumours and Deals - Thread

Recommended Posts

No, Dessers ain't the problem. Most strikers haven't been the problem. Their scoring rates and stats are and were similar to most in Rangers's history. Only that we are hell-bend on expecting them to be the finished jack-of-all-trades striker like Ibrahimovic, Messi, or the like, hitting the goal with ever other shot, scoring 30+ per season. We changed a running system to this modern crab and now try to blame the players for not doing it to perfection in a league where it is doomed to fail time and again.

Blaming single players just means that people trust the system more than the ability of the players ... which is, IMHO, fundamentally wrong. (And this does not mean that I think that any player who receives criticism isn't worth it.)

Dessers isn't the only problem, of course not, but his high wages to minutes played, low resale value, poor overall performance within the system we play, is still an issue that can be worked on in the short term

I’m not sure it can be worked on.

Ronald de Boer warned us about Dessers when we were signing him. Unfortunately he’s been proven correct.

David Moyes back to Everton - another potential manager out of the equation 😀

Absolutely no chance he’d take the Rangers job. First question he’d ask would be what he was getting to spend on new players.

Face facts, if Clement goes we’re looking at a McInnes level of manager ….😩
