... as the only "rumour" worth looking at. Good age, good experience, knows the score. We could do worse, pending on the fee. Has played 25 matches so far this season, no injuries. At least the last bit is something we can change ...

 

As for the centre-halfs ...

 

Souttar, Pröpper, King, Nsiala, Balogun are 5, Kasanwirjo has played most his games as centre-half too, while we use Sterling in that position too. So it is essentially 7 players able to do the job there.

 

Nsiala was on the bench at Hibs, maybe training more with the first team than the B side, to get him up to speed (in January?). 

I’d take katic back in a minute but he’s not a free agent is he?

Probably just to say January is a hard market, planning for the summer etc. The usual excuses.

You have to wonder why Clement said in a press conference that Mr Stewart would be addressing the press regarding our Januaury transfer strategy?

 

1. Defelcting from his own deficiencies?

2. Been told to say that when / if asked?

3. Throwing Mr Stewart under the bus?

Yeah, straight from Clements mouth when he was asked a direct question regarding January transfer activity. 

 

I've been wondering the reasoning behind Clement's answer and still can't think why he would say that (hence the question).

It's a bit of a stretch to suggest he's deflecting or throwing Jean-Luc under the bus. 

 

There's nothing much there:

 

    Interviewer: "Is there scope [for new signings]."

 

    Clement: "That's something Patrick will address [...]. He wants to give that explanation: [...] the plan for January."

 

It could just be a simple as the financial side is the remit of Jean-Luc. It does appear like there was perhaps a plan for Jean-Luc to address the plan for January, but there's no details.
