RANGERRAB 3,729
Most of the current squad will be here for a long time yet because no one will buy them and pay the wages they’re on at Rangers. If a new manager comes in he’ll have to continue to use these players because the wage bill is getting reduced & there’s little money for new players.

If it is, I'm supporting the wrong club. What have the fans been impatient about? The fans have backed the board (season ticket sales, top end European ticket prices, merchandise etc) season after season. Was it fans being unrealistic and impatient that "forced" the board to spend £12M on a vanity project called NEH? Is it the fans fault (impatient and unrealistic) that the board pay higher wages than Celtic? Did the fans squander £50M received on transfer fees? Do the fans continue to force the board to spend more than they generate? That's all on the board and absolutely nothing to do with the fans. What did John Bennett try and make very clear ? Austerity & Patience. What is it we are all talking about on here ? Change manager and a good chunk of the playing squad, AGAIN. What aren't we talking about ? Where the Money is coming from. The fanbase appear to have forgotten about austerity and patience. They are addicted to and are pushing for another short term fix. Thus ensuring the continued and what would be, deepening financial hole. In 2012, we all talked about priorities. We have forgotten about that as well.
Popular Post Sutton_blows_goats 5,455
I often think about when PLG left and Walter came back. Now, I know there was only one Walter. But the first thing he did was put a spine back in the team for little or no cost. I can’t help but think a 6” plus 80kg defender, midfielder and forward can transform this side. If done correctly. They don’t need to be world beaters just compliment what we have. We don’t need a war chest to get better. We just need to make better decisions.

A defender, a midfielder and a forward who are not going to cost anything will have us beating Celtic and challenging for the title. Everything will be fine again. Just one more fix, please. Got a quid for a cup of coffee, mister?

We've waited 14 years for the board (and previous boards) to come up with a long term fix, they've continued to show they are incapable of this. How much longer are you suggesting we wait for? Another decade and a half?

Another decade and a half? Have you any suggestions regarding the "long term fix"? While I agree with the sentiment, I have no clue about the realities in Scotland, i.e. what or who is out there who can help us? On a business and financial level. Obviously, one can come up and say: "Hey, that's what they get paid for (if they are getting paid)!". But they can't conjure up something from nothing. So the business will be more like: buy low or get free, sell for a profit; reach European football and do well there ... for some time to come. No matter who is doing it at the boardroom level.

We are skint and can't suddenly make up the ground just because we are Rangers. We have repeatedly fucked up badly and will have to suffer some more. On the pitch, there will be ups and downs. Get used to it.

Yes, I have told you. If you choose not to, or simply can't see it. Then it would help explain your lack of awareness. I've been talking about this type of thing for years and I can assure you that I buy nobody's party line. Right or wrong, I call it, as I see it. What I have been saying for years is coming to a head of sorts. Now we have new executive management coming in. Questions for them will be about finance/strategy.
