Tannochsidebear 2,410
Souttar, Jefte, Raskin, Hagi, Cerny I’d be happy to keep. Butland, Sterling, Barron, Diomande, I don’t mind if they stay but meh if they go. Tav, Propper, Ridvan, mcCausland, Lawrence, Dessers, Danilo, Igamane, Bajrami, Dowell I’d be happy to see leave. Anybody I’ve missed is because I can’t even think of them as I’m typing this so I guess I’m not that bothered about keeping. But to those saying this is worst team in X years that’s just frustration as the football under Beale just last year was much much worse than this lot, and then you’re also forgetting the Pedro monstrosity when we lost in Luxembourg and of course the side that couldn’t win the Championship under Super Ally. That’s all within the last 10 years. It might be 1 top flight title in 14 years but we weren’t in the top flight for 4 years and we won the title in the only division we were allowed to play in during 3 of 4 years so a bit of balance would be nice. The board gave upon this title last summer to get the books back in order. Clement got 3 instructions in the summer - take £10M off the wage bill, reduce the age of the squad, bring in players we can sell for profit. First 2 are ticked off and 3rd possible but not nailed on. Having done what was asked I don’t see him getting sacked. I’m fairly numb about league results as the title was gone in July so perhaps that’s why I’m not as angry as others with the current situation.

However, I'd like to know as a Rangers fan what unrealistic expectations I have and what I'm impatient about.

I'd argue the football under Clement is worse than under Beale and Gio, bordering on Pedro and Warburton. 7 goals in the last 5 home games. 17 league goals all season. 3rd in the league. Even cutting wages we should still be competitive in the SPL. Are we to believe that in 12 months time our books will be in order? How many more titles do we give up? Who are we selling at a profit? Diomande? Cortes? Igamane? Propper? Bajrami? This is Rangers Football Club, so, this was Rangers Football Club a pale shadow of the proud institution it used to be. I’m not disagreeing with most of that other than comparing the quality on show which is subjective but I know you are not just wakening up to the fact our club bears no resemblance to the club when Walter stepped down in 2011. We have had a few false dawns like we were able to win the closed doors season when us the fans couldn’t apply enough pressure on our team to bottle it so we skooshed it, and were a penalty kick away from a European trophy, but those 2 apart it’s been an absolute shit show for 14 years. Changing the manager again won’t change any of that unfortunately, the issues are far bigger. I’d rather we limped on with what we have and get the rest sorted first using the rest of this season to properly prepare for a serious tilt in 25/26. But Rangers fans in general and the media especially won’t allow that to happen.

We won't have much money for new players, you want to stick with a manager who doesn't have a style of play or who doesn't know his best 11. You are correct that the issues are much deeper but in his 12 months in the role, Clement has overseen a drastic regression in our results and performances. We'll be sitting here saying the same on the eve of them winning 10-in-a-row if we don't address those "underlying" issues - I.e the board.

I would tend to agree with most of what you've said except Bajrhami. He is a cracking player, like Cantwell, played out of position.
