Aye, but when I do it you call it nonsense!

It's a bit selective. (The financial numbers are very misleading, too.)

If we expand it, we can see why Beale deserved to be sacked. I was quite content going into that season with a 4-diamond-2, but the ppg drop off was quite severe. Clement then brought about an incredible turnaround, then we get a drop off this season.

Gerrard's last season saw a bad drop off, too.

GvB was quite consistent, I'd say - but the football was dreadful.

Do you know what the average is over these 7 seasons? 2.25 ppg.

Season Manager MP Pts PPG Change
18/19 Gerrard 38 78 2.05 -
19/20 Gerrard 29 67 2.31 0.26
20/21 Gerrard 38 102 2.68 0.37
21/22 Gerrard 12 27 2.25 -0.43
  GvB 25 59 2.36 0.11
22/23 GvB 15 33 2.20 -0.16
  Beale 23 59 2.57 0.37
23/24 Beale 7 12 1.71 -0.85
  Clement 30 70 2.33 0.62
24/25 Clement 11 22 2.00 -0.33

Why has Gerrard only got 29 games in 19/20season

Beale did deserved to be sacked, no doubting. However, going by that logic, so does Clement. Clement also has a lower goals per game and lower goal aggregate (has a better goals against)

It's hard to argue that the football we are witnessing under Clement (after the "bounce") is as bad as, if not worse than anything we witnessed under Beale. Results and league position show this quite clearly.

As for Beales "mess", Clement is still relying on players Beale (or his predecessors) signed. In fact we'd be in a far worse league position if you removed the winning goals scored this season by Dessers and Lawrence.

Our injuries aren't improving and neither has our fitness which is quite the achievement considering.

Financials whilst may be misleading do show Clement has been backed as much as Beale was in the transfer market.

The case for sticking with Clement unravels more and more each week.

It was a pretty good bounce - one trophy, unlucky in another cup competition and Rangers would have won the league but for fixture postponements.

What logic?  Just PPG or will the board consider GPG too?

The board will take more than stats into account when making big decisions.  As has been discussed, Clement took on a worse situation than Beale did, so will likely get more leeway.

So who’d replace Clement?

I think the problem is, what right minded talented, or good quality manager, would want to manage Rangers at the moment

Not my decision - but I wouldn't trust the current board given their recent record. Just another reason why we need a full-time Chairman and CEO urgently.

But it appears the majority of fans are still happy to stumble along with a bowling club committee running the club and a manager who is sitting 3rd in the league. Whilst deflecting the blame onto previous incumbents.

Sometimes we get what we deserve.
