@Rousseau is in Edinburgh. He speaks posh.

Where I am it’s “yalla”. Some benighted folk will say “yally” but generally your proposition is correct.

Christ, settle down lads, don't want this turning into another Russia v Ukraine thread 🙄 😀

For avoidance of doubt, its yelly (or yellie).

I'd pronounce it - when I wasn't pronouncing it properly... - more like 'Yelly', or 'yellie'; never 'yella'.

I wonder of it's a regional thing?

Most likely. But I doubt many people speak Scots (i.e. the "English" derived from the Angles' language rather than the Saxon language of England (and what you use for "Scottish English")) in daily life anyway ...

I'm very disappointed no one has noticed my promotion, even if it wasn't announced with great fanfare as it ought to have been.

I now have access to the Caird of Purest Yellae.

I did notice your promotion, but I thought you'd be far too modest to bring attention to it.

Would that be pretend posh, as in Corstorphine, or proper posh, as in Barnton?

Neither. Utterly posh as in Grange.

I don’t know if he actually lives there but I bet he talks like it.
