The same board that have and contribute to spend more than we earn and put us in this situation? What gives you the confidence that they will resolve these issues, recruit the correct people and take us to the level we need to be at? No, I don't trust them to sort things out. I have been on about the direction of travel for years. Been told to stop being so negative.....but now we are where we were always heading. Took too long but Bennett was right l. However, it is a hugely difficult challenge to arrive at sustainability and maintain it. The expectation levels / timescales of the support (another thing I have talked about for years) make it so much more difficult. This allied to the rude financial health of our main rivals. Of course, it is about bringing competent executive management in. Still won't be easy.

I don't trust them to be able to recruit the correct people (given their abysmal track record) either. We are in a horrific situation and in my opinion, the only credible way forward is getting the correct people in or if the current board can't do that, then they need to sell the club.

They're so ubiquitous they've become meaningless. This type of post is meaningless and off topic (I note you were very particular about this). Unlike the word omnishambles which perfectly describes the current state of Rangers.

And for the record, you'd need to pay me a tidy sum to attend one of these chat things with ex-players and managers. All sounds very boring. Why not, I thought I would be the ideal platform for you to tell these people that they are lying, tell them what really happened in front of a large audience. Rather than sitting on a small independent forum that has limited reach that they'll never see. If you have courage of your convictions telling Souness he is lying to his face is more productive than posting on here.

Thereafter, the fans would need to be patient.

Gonzo79 15,282
Everyone seems to agree new blood is needed at the upper echelons of the club. The remaining arguments are just folk getting all hot and bothered for the sake of it.

I don't think it is a very attractive proposition for a decent CEO. The only way I think you get a really good candidate is paying through the nose.

It was posted earlier in this thread (can't remember who by) that in general terms running Rangers financially shouldn't be to difficult for someone with the correct knowledge and experience. Our incoming money and outgoing costs are largely known / fixed. We just have to ensure that the incomings match or exceed the outgoings. Vanity projects like NEH should have been shelved until we were in good financial health. £12M on a venue that isn't used and can't be used for our AGM as its too small 😀
