Sir Duped of Murray was the main architect of our demise. He encouraged a habit of the quick fix to any problem. But the financing of that habit eventually broke us. The support got used to it and still want everything now, even when they have been told of the dire financial situation.

So we sit back and watch the club go to the wall (cause that's where we are heading) for a second time? Aye, that's they way forward. I'm waiting on the alternative you are going to offer

He just upped the spending after Holmes left Wasn’t long after Holmes left that Lawrence the building company collapsed makes me wonder if some of the building companies money was used to buy players.

The issues weren't under Souness or Smith (either time). The spending under Advocaat was crazy and that's when the problems arose and it was around this time that Murray got creative with tax as well.

Yeah, I haven't heard one sensible alternative. They may have made some bad decisions, but most were made with the best of intentions, and they've continued to fund the club. If people think things are bad now, how much worse would we be if they walked away taking their £20m support with them?

We still overspent under Souness and Smith backed by the money from Lawrence construction and remember there wasn’t the fantastic prize money on offer in European competition either I said it then and I say it now the club side of the business was spending beyond its means.
buster. 5,162 Posted Friday at 10:22 Share Posted Friday at 10:22 Clement talked of a meeting with the full board, in June. According to him, those at the table said, that if financial issues weren't properly addressed that the situation could become existential. Think about that. This was a meeting with those who are financing the club. Since then, we had a terrible summer transfer window where we could only bring in 810K for 5 permanent and 4 loan deals. Spend was over 13M and we still have to get the Barron fee confirmed. That shortfall will be for the next set of accounts in a years time.

I want them to realise they need to get people in place who can run a football club.
