Can't wait for the club statement telling us to expect the team to be competing for second place for the forseeable and maybe a cup every three or four years.  That would really gee us all up.  🤣

It isn't about geeing us up.

It is about being realistic.

Clement is left to try and communicate this message when Gilligan expressly said that he would talk about the numbers/upstairs stuff and let the manager get on with the football.

Waiting for the AGM would be fine if the situation was normal, it isn't.

Of course, the alternative is that Gilligan comes out and tells us that Clement is gone.

Is he hedging his bets ?

I'm not sure what Gilligan could say about tempering expectations that wouldn't have a negative impact, particularly in relation to ticket and merchandise sales.

It's not the club's fault that some people still think we're in the 1990s.

I'm not saying it is easy but if the club want to keep the current manager, he needs to communicate that the blame for what is going on is at various levels of the club and put more focus on the harsh reality of our finances.

I don't envy him. This has got to a point where Gilligan may be wishing he had declined the offer of interim Chairman.

Since our conversation on this, I listened to the Clement presser that was released on Saturday.

He basically says as much and is having a go at the lack of support from upstairs, in terms of communication of the ongoing financial impediments.

Gilligan isn't doing what he said he would, only 6 or 7 weeks ago.

Is it normal practice for share trading to be suspended in the lead up to the AGM?

Don't know, but I don't see what rationale would be used to stop a trade between willing owners/parties in ordinary circumstances.

Why do you ask?

I got the e-mail and wondered the same thing.  I assumed I'd see something on here or FF if it was something unusual or concerning - haven't seen anything.

Maybe a takeover in the offing or an announcement of some kind of major financial news or just to say we’re skint  🥸

Because trading has been suspended on Rangers shares.
