I see he’s passed away at 78 a very good player at East end park and at Parkhead the only player I think big Stein signed twice his brother Wullie was also a very good player if I remember correctly .

Tommy Callaghan would be a first pick for the current Scotland side. His brother was a better defender than any player currently playing in the Scottish defence.

 

Same applies to Rangers when I think about it.

Of course he didn’t bomb up and down the park getting in the way of his winger and leaving his flank open which seems to be the way modern fullbacks operate.

Positional play is so ubiquitous that this rarely happens in the modern game.
