[FT] Kilmarnock 1 - 0 Rangers

Recommended Posts

My main criticism of Beale was the xG difference. Basically we were not creating enough chances - never mind taking them - to deserve to win games comfortably. Beale's average difference was 0.94 difference between our xG and the opponents xGA. That's not even a goal more than our opponents.

That improved significantly under Clement last season (and that's with the end of season slump built-in).

However, this season it's actually worse than Beale, at 0.86.

Damning.

Latest data shows the dons and the horrid hoops are six points ahead

They've been lucky.

You had Everton relegated last season but I said quite early that their xG showed they'd be safe from relegation.

Don't dismiss the xG.

Our recent performances, stats aside, are getting reminiscent of Beale's tenure.  And GvB's.

We don't have enough creativity in the middle of the park.  Barron is a decent enough DM but Diamonde seems to be getting gradually worse, creating virtually nothing and Lawrence is a waste of a jersey.

As well as statistically, it's also obvious the performance levels have dropped dramatically and are about as bad / worse than what we witnessed under Beale.

Very common trajectory for players that we sign.

Anybody remember the euphoria after Raskin had played a couple of games? He looked like a breath of fresh air too.

We can't spend our way out of our problems. At some point somebody needs to figure out a way to get more out of the players that we have. Good management and coaching is required.

Again, good coaching of average players will also only get us so far.

It's a difficult task but we need to find quality players who are young, ambitious and willing to use Rangers as a stepping stone to top leagues.

The hard part is identifying these players and signing them before any other club discovers them.

Yet to see their quality.

Cortes constantly injured

Diomande hot and cold

Iganane (never heard of him) can't dislodge Dessers

Jefte about the best out the bunch but not as good as prime Barasic

Diomande and Cortes cost us £4.5M each - hardly seems value for money at the moment. So I don't get your point at all
