ranger_syntax 4,195 Posted Friday at 14:04 Share Posted Friday at 14:04 Porrini was dead reliable apart from that time we couldn't rely on him to stay on the pitch against Parma.
Devil's advocaat 1,506 Posted Friday at 18:08 Share Posted Friday at 18:08 I'll admit to not really being a Porrini fan, I was a bit disappointed that we spent a lump on an Italian and he looked and played like a Scot, solid but uninspiring.
weebluedevil 1,237 Posted Friday at 22:26 Share Posted Friday at 22:26 One from recent years - Daniel Candeias! Our right side was never better and he was a very reliable finisher. Was gutted when he left and has never been replaced.

If you are going down the Daniel route then Daniel Cousin - perhaps more of an enigma - could be unplayable on his day but didnt do it enough. Tam Buffel was another of mine - always thought he was a classy player.
buster. 5,062 Posted Saturday at 08:39 Share Posted Saturday at 08:39 Tommy McLean was the assist king when Derek Johnstone was taking the plaudits for his goal tally. Bobby Russell was an excellent midfielder and footballer picked up for 200 pounds from the juniors when Cooper was the headline signing. Russell and Jardine on the right were very effective.
Scott7 5,850 Posted Saturday at 08:44 Share Posted Saturday at 08:44 I don’t think McLean and Russell were unsung. McLean was compared unfavourably with his illustrious outside right predecessors in his early days until we ignorant spectators worked out what he was doing.
compo 6,861 Posted Saturday at 08:47 Share Posted Saturday at 08:47 McLean was a fantastic crosser of the ball and Russell was a first class inside forward with great vision.
Uilleam 5,892 Posted Saturday at 08:49 Share Posted Saturday at 08:49 I remember, with pleasure, Daniel Cousin rag-dolling the filth centre backs. Kind of heroic, if we stretch the term.
