Hagi, who spent last season on loan at La Liga outfit Deportivo Alaves, has been playing and training with the B team this season after returning from his time with the Romania squad at Euro 2024.

Philippe Clement stated publicly that the 26-year-old was not viewed as a long-term solution at No.10, with a contract clause complicating Hagi’s reintegration when no transfer away from Ibrox materialised over the summer window.

Good news. For all his limitations, Hagi has proven himself to be a useful player in a Rangers jersey so is much better contributing to the first team than not. Best outcome for all parties.
