johnnyk 158
I think Boyd in a 4-4-2 is fine for SPL matches but he's struggled at this level before. He has shaded weight again so he may be a lot more mobile. Boyd has not had much of a chance at this level to struggle IMO. Would like to see how many euro games he has actually played since he joined us, won't be many.......

Granted he hasnt had much of a european run. If WS goes 4-4-2 then i wouldnt say no to Boyd playing but the chances are minimal are they as WS has his favoured style at the moment.
earl of leven 0
Boyd and McCulloch up front in Europe?! Oh dear...it won't be pretty that's for sure.

Novo / Naismith with Boyd / McCulloch would be better but for this game my first pick would be Novo and Cousin (if available).
earl of leven 0
I'd go with Naismith, Burke and Novo...drop Boyd and McCulloch, but that would never happen. Slow paced, high ball based stuff with emphasis on defence will not trouble them imho...fast three pronged attack might.
Jon 0
Interesting, the players an shape of the rest of the team?

Again those 3 would look ok but id say a non starter by WS, he likes a big tall striker to hold things up. Another option which a lot of fans would look at is Buffel to play behind a striker with Ferguson and Hemdani sitting in central midfield but once again WS wont do that.
earl of leven 0
Interesting, the players an shape of the rest of the team? Hemdani, Ferguson and Davis in midfield. Ferguson furthest forward, David doing what Thomson does behind Ferguson. Front three would interchange, and would drop back as required. Defence as usual. I see absolutely no loss in not having Adam, McCulloch, Boyd etc....but that's just my opinion. They all lack pace, technique etc.
Jon 0
I like the look of that actually mate
earl of leven 0
It won't happen. What will happen is one up front, probably Boyd, with McCulloch asked to hang about waiting for long punts to try and knock on. The rest will be in their own half. Remember Red Star? Something like that....sadly.
