Rangers extend shirt sponsorship deal

Recommended Posts

No reason to doubt Stevie's info so, as much as we'd arguably prefer gambling firms weren't key sponsors, this appears a very good deal for the club in a financial sense.

£3m a year including incentives would be really good tbf.

I still think we'll all look back on this era of betting sponsorship in football and cringe in years to come though.

I'd be interested to know if the club have been talking to Castore about a renewal. We were the springboard for them breaking into the market so you'd think we could achieve a similar rise in a kit deal.

Although I think a smaller rise but bigger royalty/commission (idk how to put it) on our sales might be more fruitful. The club would rather a bigger guarantee though I'd imagine.

I find football finance and business, sport business in general, more and more interesting these days. Maybe it's just growing out of loving transfers and wanting to know what's behind it. Or just getting older!

I wonder what kind of data the club use in these negotiations?

Would they have the numbers of fans tuning into RTV every week as well as the Sky/Premier numbers to get a gauge of exposure and riff off that?

Kit sales and footfall as well.

Wouldn't mind those kind of figures being included in the accounts every year tbh.

Sounds like a very good deal and with Castore opening more stores (Rangers shops in Falkirk and Livingston opened recently) I can see an extension to the Castore deal as well.

Anyone who bought the Castore kit confirm the quality? There were complaints from teams like Aston Villa last season.

I would like to see us go back to Adidas, for me there always produced the best tops.

I've bought around 8 tops, 4 quarter zips and tracky bottoms for my lad(s) and a couple of quarter zips and hoodies for myself and have absolutely no complaints.

Some of these have been bought on-line from Rangers / Castore and again no complaints regarding delivery service either.

I understand others have had issues, but I can't complain about the stuff I've bought.

My lads like the kit designs, I have mixed feelings in the designs but at 56 I'm not the demographic they are aiming for.

Have to say the Castore / Rangers "wings" hoody I bought is probably my favourite piece of Rangers merchandise since the Adidas days.
