Best to have a bad relationship with the council.

Everybody within the club needs to be able to identify friends/enemies and act accordingly.

The council in question has a track record of hiring Celtic fans in every area possible. We've all seen the park workers etc wearing Celtic shirts at work.

How do people expect we build professional relationships with Celtic fans out of interest?

Sensible (and welcome) of the interim chair to have a press conference to deal with some of the recent noise from Dave King but not so sure we've learned anything new from it. Hopefully more depth in any print interviews tomorrow. CEO pursuit remains a disappointing issue.

Seen a bit of his conference and iv'e no doubt he's a first class man in whatever his own line of business is but he spoke to much like a fan and there's not a lot wrong with that but i would want someone who can talk freely without stopping and starting when i interrupted by the press we need a man who can take command of the room and if needed put offers fimly in their place control the  narrative at the end of the day we badly need a first class CEO .

Just listened to the interview and firstly, it was great to hear from John and hope that this isn't his one and only press conference, think we need rk be having these on an ongoing basis.

My takeaways ;

- he seemed to admit that the delays in opening the Copland were all down to the board (good he is accepting blame and accountability) and that we are now awaiting all the final sign-offs.

- he skirted around the questions on investment and his responses didn't make me feel that outwith further investment fron current share-holders that there is much in the pipeline (he said of anyone wants to invest then get in touch - that's doesn't sound like a board that knows where the required investment is coming from our secured.

- CEO recruitment doesn't seem anywhere near being completed and this is very disappointing.  This has gone unfulfilled for far to long.

- sounds like the board are all behind the manager and he was impressed with PC. Need to back the vocal support with financial support.

Hopefully he'll understand the magnitude of what it will take to grab back the mantle of Scotlands leading football club as, as he admitted the gulf is huge and growing.

Just listened to his RTV interview which basically goes over most of what was said to the media.

However, in the hiring of the CEO he does mention that someone "pulled out" of the process in the very final stages which left us back to square one. Wonder who that could have been?

It's interesting that you use the term "required investment". We need more money for the team but any money that we get as investment won't be available for the team, as I understand FFP.

It seems to me that any additional investment would be nice but it's not going to improve things on the park, and it also makes it more difficult to attract investors as they'll know their money won't make a massive difference.

Yeah, seems like they've had to start from scratch again and it'll take time for candidates to be identified and interviewed and then notice given. May take a while.

Regarding investment, his interview with RTV was more telling and explained the situation more clearly. The board are looking for external investment (in trade for shares) but it appears anyone who have approached wants a majority shareholding which the board are against.
