Does that mean that Matondo's injury is a bad one?

 

Only 2 wide players and one of them is currently injured? Makes the club's decision to pull out of the loan deal for the Southampton boy an even worse one.

Not sure what it means in terms of Injury for Matondo or Danilo. I'm sure there are player registration problems.

 

Squad limit 25.

 

4 nation trained (3 years in Scotland between 16-21) / 4 'home grown' club trained (3 years at club between 16-21) - any missing from this means a squad space must be omitted. So i read that as a maximum of 21 players can be registered. Not sure why we couldn't register Leon King and get an extra space?

Interesting that Igamane is in the Euro squad ahead of Danilo. Presumably the latter's fitness remains a concern and a few months after he resumed full training that certainly suggests his top-level career could be at risk.

 

No Matondo less of a surprise as he remains unreliable despite his latest injury apparently only a grade 2 tear meaning he should be back earlyish next month.

No McCausland either but not sure if he can be on the B list? Same with Robbie Fraser?

It seems to me that there must be injury concerns about Matondo if we aren't registering him, given our left wing deficiency. We've just got an injured Cortes, whereas Matondo could surely be brought in to replace Dowell if we've already got Diomande, Bajrami and Lawrence who could play in the 10 position.

 

Maybe we don't need to register King and he qualifies without being registered? Not sure about the rules.

They might count as exempt as homegrown U-21 - Why wouldn't you just register them so you can get the extra space for a Matondo or Danilo?

IIRC not registering Home Grown or Nation Trained slots costs you a full slot as a penalty. So we could have registered King or McCausland and got an additional 2 slots?

 

Here is the Celtic Squad as a comparison - doubt you will see Welsh or Montgomery but they have included them to get the extra spaces. They have filled the allocation of 25.
