ian1964 10,777
RANGERS' UEFA Cup opponents Panathinaikos moved to the top of the Greek Super League thanks to a 2-0 home win over 5th place Tripolis on Sunday. AEK Athens were sitting in pole position prior to the weekend's fixtures but they were to suffer a surprise 3-2 defeat to mid-table Panionios, giving Jose Peseiro's side the chance to skip above their city rivals. Panathinaikos did, however, leave it late to secure the win with Senagalese forward Dame N'Doye opening the scoring on 76 minutes before his strike partner Dimitris Salpigidis bagged a second with two minutes of the game remaining. Ian Durrant travelled to Athens to watch the match and could be asked to return this weekend as the club faces Veria prior to their visit to Glasgow

johnnyk 158
I always hate playing Greek and Turkish teams for some reason. We are more than capable of beating them as Frankie says but especially in Greece if we don't play well they can easily give us a doing IMO.........
Guest TheBrit
I can't see us giving them a doing or us getting a doing. It will be a close encounter that's for sure.

Gribz 954
The first leg will be so important. If we nick a early goal then WS has proved he has made us hard to break down this season. Looking forward to it, hopefully the sports channels decide to go with it over here.
