yuddie 1,693 Posted August 22 Share Posted August 22 Right, I've been down a rabbit hole coming up with all sorts of predicted figures depending on what sort of run we go on. Imo we should aim for 5 wins to get into the play offs, that's accounting for 4 home games and 2 games against pot 4 sides. We probably want 6 to get top 8 though. It's the unknown though so go out and try and win all 8, we are Rangers! (And we love a Thursday night at Ibrox...hopefully!) Here's an explainer for the format: Now I've said before that missing out on the UCL does have the sliver lining of us being veterans of the UEL and getting into the KO stages. We are currently ahead of Celtic in the 10 year and 5 year coefficient and if we perform well in Europe this season we will more than likely pull away unless they have a blinder in the UCL. What needs to happen in the next few seasons is having at least one season, if not several, in the UCL whilst we've got priority for the share of money in Scotland. We could hit 100+ points in the 10 year ranking if we perform well enough in the near future, which would have us on a par with the likes of PSV and Salzburg. Which, imo, is what the aim should have always been the last few years. If that happens it is imperative we capitalise on it. Now this is a big old caveat which gets thrown out the window because I and everyone else want Rangers to win the league and be at the table of the best competition in football as well as the caveat that Celtic have all the honey whilst we plan accordingly with another UEL budget (which should be the case when we do qualify for the UCL btw). Lots of ifs, buts and maybes but I'm looking forward to the campaign, like the ones that have gone before it could be blessed relief from the domestic slog.
