Right, purely on the numbers the manager will be pretty content with today's game (result pending!). And I'd understand why.

 

We've created enough chances to be 3 or 4 up bar poor finishing and we've limited STJ to crumbs defensively apart from a crack from distance that hit the post.

 

The eye test would tell you that we're ropey defensively and sloppy in attack though.

 

We've done enough today to win 90% of games in any league.

 

We need to stop stopping when we score though and bury teams. We just aren't good enough in defence to settle for a 1-0 win.

Decent performance today. Looked to link a few good things together, Jefte and Matondo combined well. Made a few good chances.

Hardly a vintage performance but very much job done and a solid win. Yes, Saints perhaps could have drawn level just before our 2nd but we were good value for our win so important to highlight the positives of which there were a few thankfully. Jefte MotM perhaps the biggest.

 

Yes, it was still disjointed too often and our shooting really is very disappointing but we were the better team by far and the final result didn't flatter us. Still a lot of work to be done but all about the result today and that allows us a week's breathing space.
