Celtic revoke tickets for Rangers fans

Recommended Posts

From the article:

Away fans will be locked out of the next TWO Old Firm games after Celtic and Rangers became embroiled in another bitter fall-out over tickets.

It was announced last term that an agreement had been struck which would see an allocation of around five per cent at both grounds. That meant both clubs would be supported by around 2,500 visiting fans at Celtic Park and Ibrox for the coming season and beyond.

But it's emerged tonight that there's been a major U-turn with Celtic raising concerns over the Ne'er Day derby arrangements. The Hoops host Philippe Clement's side at Parkhead in the first derby of the season on September 1 and have forked out over the summer to put extra security measures in place in and around their stadium.

What’s their concern about the game at ibrox?

That the required safety changes haven't been completed, I'd imagine, but I never read the article, so that might be shite.

Away fans will be locked out of the next TWO Old Firm games after Celticand Rangers became embroiled in another bitter fall-out over tickets.

But with ongoing delays at Ibrox, Rangers have been unable to do the same as they play at their temporary home at Hampden. Celts are scheduled to make the trip to Govan on January 2 but haven't been given the guarantees that were originally put in place earlier this year.

And as Celtic refuse to make away tickets available for Rangers for next month's showdown, it's likely their rivals will adopt a similar stance for the second league fixture.

RANGERS was today informed that Celtic will make no allocation for away fans for the September Old Firm game.

The allocation to be implemented by both clubs was clear and Rangers was taking all steps towards fulfilling that agreement.

In the meantime, we can confirm that no away allocation will apply for the January Old Firm fixture at Ibrox. This is consistent with the reciprocity embedded in the agreement reached between the clubs and the SPFL.
