We can have a style or a template for playing the game without spending money. It may not be successful,  but the system needs to come first.

We've not seen a style or system since Clement took over. We are slow, pedestrian, ponderous and don't have any shape.

We lack proper quality in key areas such as in wide areas up front. Until we get better recruits I don’t see that changing

So Clement doesn't need a system until he has gotten quality players signed?

We might have missed the Lundstrum we had in his first couple of seasons at Rangers but not the Lundstrum from last season

For most of last season Lundstrum was our best and most consistent player.

First competitive game of the season players should be raring to go but I did notice a couple of them looking shaged out after about seventy minutes anyway we’ve got a point on the board so it’s onward and upward.

GVB was probably offered Matondo and he took it, similar to Davies. That doesn't mean they were HIS signings, if you get what I mean.

Yeah I’d agree with that, shit show by committee. I stick by my original point though that Gio escaped the same criticism other managers got for bad signings.

Pretty much goes for most top level managers.

Klopp didn't start firing until he bought VVD and Becker.

Guardiola went through 100's of millions and 2 back fours and 4 full backs to get City to the dominant force they are now.

Binned Hart, brought in Bravo, binned him and signed Ederson.

It took Arteta 3 or 4 years to get to a point where the Arsenal fans could see the vision with him. As well as half a billion.

There should be something more discernible, yes, but managers live and die by their recruitment success. Or lack thereof. Manchester United being a graveyard for coaches because of this as an example.

Beale rightly gets slaughtered because he was given the keys by all accounts even if the club won't admit to it - reading between the lines at least.

Gerrard was a lot more hands on than Gio I'd say too, especially in terms of outs. I'd argue him digging in his heels and refusing to sell post 55 was as costly as anything Gio has done.

Let's face it though, Big Eck will always be the king of turning an underperforming team around and then getting his recruitment wrong when wanting to build his own team.

There isn't even a hint of style.

We've now only won 6 of our last 16 competitive games.
