Premier League 2024/25

At one time Brighton wouldn’t have got a look in against a top side like Chelsea but that’s all changed

Brighton 7/4

Draw 12/5

Chelsea 5/4

not so long ago you’d have got something like 11/2 for Brighton changed days

The Premier League has suffered a significant setback after a tribunal deemed its sponsorship rules – which operated for almost three years - null and void.

In a bombshell verdict - that could now trigger a series of giant compensation claims and plunge the competition into crisis – an independent panel has sided with champions Manchester City and deemed that the league’s Associated Party Transaction (APT) regulations, which ran from December 2021 to November 2024, were unlawful in their entirety.

After proposed deals with Etihad Airways and First Abu Dhabi Bank were blocked in 2023, City took the Premier League to court, effectively declaring war. They claimed that the league’s APT rules, around commercial deals clubs do with parties linked to them, were unlawful.

In September last year, a tribunal agreed with City, highlighting three elements which it deemed unlawful. One was the fact that shareholder loans – where parties with stakes in clubs such as Arsenal and Liverpooloften lend money at low or no interest – were not subject to the same fair market value tests included in the APT rules.

At the time, a row erupted between City and the Premier League, with the latter claiming that a number of tweaks to the rules would suffice.

Chief executive Richard Masters claimed the tribunal had actually ‘endorsed’ the APT rules, and added it had only found ‘certain discrete elements…that need to be amended’.

I hope you lumped something on that 7/4.

The first goal from Mitoma is goal of the season - absolutely world class. And well done both the player and the club for rejecting 70M in the transfer window.

Didnt see that hammering coming at all, I watched most of the game and Chelsea were so poor and out played.

City keeper plays long ball right down the middle next touch is a city forward chipping the Newcastle keeper two touches from one goal to the opposite one it’s easy peasy at the moment for city now two ahead.

new boy Marmoosh has just scored his third of the day

City back in the top 4 and I expect them to stay there and eventually get 3rd. There are just grounds teams never turn up and Newcastle cant show up at the Etihad.

Bournemouth in 5th is unreal, and as it stands in a Champions League place.

West Ham - disaster. The PE teacher is off to a slow start. The manager they should have went for was in the opposite dugout.

Everton - What a transformation Moyes has done, they are now going for top 10.

Arsenal - cant run the rest of the season hoping midfielders will bail them out like that.

Spurs and  Manchester United today two teams of the past can they serve up a cracker or will it be as dull as dishwater

One team that cant defend against one team that cant attack, it could be any scoreline.

Liverpool v Wolves isnt a great game to be part of a Super Sunday double, fair enough if it was at Molineux but this should be a routine comfortable home win.
