He was forced out by the UK Govt after they suggested he was close to Putin and his inner circle. No proof was given, as they knew full well he had distanced himself from the Russian hierarchy and he agreed that the £3bn he was owed from the sale of the club could go to the Ukranian relief fund - after the Govt no doubt took their share.
