Expand Yes and we should not be too smug about their failures; it harms us as we do our utmost to increase Scotland's co-efficient only for them to piss it up the wall. It's likely that soon our champions will have to complete endless qualifying rounds and not even be seeded. We can do our bit on Thursday but the real problem is the nature of the Scottish League; it's comprised of endless loan players, foreigners who are very substandard and teams who change their line up every season ensuring no continuity. I can't name one St Johnstone or Hibs player for example. The only way the league improves is to develop our own - players like Barron, Lennon Miller and David Watson. And don't give me that tired old excuse that the SPL is too competitive.
compo 7,939
I wonder if having no sway over the referee had anything to do with this disaster I'm sure some Scottish referees might have found fault with six of the Dortmund goals
compo 7,939
Dortmund are top of the league at the moment tonight's games might change that the hooped horrors have dropped from second to nineteenth .
compo 7,939
Now that the dust has settled on last night's leathering of the hooped horrors how do you think Rangers would have handled the jerries last night

Gribz 1,263
Well done The Villa, cracking goal again from Duran Duran but Martinez had a couple of worldy saves. The other thread about Man Utd's next manager - what would they give to get Uni Emery?? I mentioned A-listers who are Klopp, Pep, Anchelotti and possibly Zidane (although needs to prove himself elsewhere) but Emery cant be far off from being promoted into that bracket.

Rousseau 11,735
I'm not certain Emery will be as successful at a big club. I think he's well-suited to those clubs below the elite, Sevilla, Villarreal, etc. His PSG stint was fine, but not great (he failed to win the league one year, if I'm not mistaken), and his Arsenal stint was poor.

Expand If his year at Arsenal was poor I'd love to know what you thought of Arteta's first 2/3 seasons. Considering how toxic that club was at that time I thought he did well enough. Not even just the fans either, the way he was portrayed and made fun of in the press and media was bordering on xenophobic. I'm a Rangers fan but Birmingham City are the club I follow in this city, even I'm happy that he's proving the fans and media wrong and taking it to the establishment. If you ask me he's been the best manager in England over the last couple of years - relative to what he's doing. Villa were in a relegation scrap ffs.

Nothing to do with referring. Expectation levels amongst their fans was high, so this has brought them down with a heavy thud. Will be interesting to see how the players react at the Ross County. I'm sure they drew up in Inverness after a prior 7 goal CL scudding.
