European Football 24/25

I believe that's the first time Xabi Alonso has been beaten by Bayern Munich as manager of Leverkusen.

They hammered them in the league recently but it finished 0-0.

Yeah the All German tie is pretty much over now, I dont see Leverkusen coming back from 3-0 down.

Lille v Dortmund and the Madrid derby are finely poised and set up.

Barca, Liverpool and Villa have professional jobs to.

Arsenal and Inter along with Bayern should have done enough.

Of course all focus was on result of the night in Turkey but elsewhere Spurs got beat in Alkmaar and Man Utd held at Real Sociedad.

Our next potential opponents Roma and Athletic Bilbao finished 2-1 to the Italians so thats very open for next week.

Will be interesting to see if Leverkusen can get the better of Bayern

They might win on the night but to turn around a 3-0 scoreline is a mammoth task.

I think all 4 ties tonight are as good as done. Barca should overcome Benfica at home, same with Inter over Feyenoord and Liverpool are always good at home in Europe.

Now that was a game worth getting up for. It doesnt matter how much FIFA put into a club world cup, the Champions League is and always should be the top competition.

Fair play to PSG, they were good again and I thought Liverpool would run over them. Well done to the PSG owners for trusting Luis Enrique who are now clearly a proper "team".

Bayern Munich showed their European pedigree in the all German clash. Inter v Bayern in the Quarters is a good clash.

Should be another good night later, Im hoping Villa do the business and Atletico come through the Madrid Derby.
