I've seen enough of Dessers for one lifetime.  His daft rolling about in the first few seconds epitomised his entire performance today - a truly awful footballer, who acts like he wants to be everybody's best pal (the Man Utd players didn't even acknowledge him and I don't blame them).  Here's hoping Danilo can make the No.9 role his ASAP.

Hard test for a pre-season game, but that's what needed to see who is up for it. They did not exactly run all over us either, especially 2nd half, but the difference in class, as expected, was obvious. It's not what we will face each week in Scotland, either.

 

It is probably safe to say that Cortes won't be a starter against Birmingham.

 

Dessers and Lawrence put in a good shift up top, always harassing their goalie and defenders. Sometimes it looked as if we played Lawrence as a second striker. Barron and Diomande will probably also be as knackered as themtwo. Sterling and Wright worked well on the right, Jefte came more into the game late on, I would assume that he will have more joy against Scottish defences. Ridvan almost laid on a late (and deserved) consolation goal.

 

Glass is definitely half full.

Some of those lads were playing for Forest Green and Burton too.  Not exactly megastars.

Attendance of over 56,500. Imagine what it might have been if Rangers supporters had bothered to go.

 

There would have been a fair number of United supporters and Man Yoo fans. (There is a difference)
