The Dutch Dujon Sterling. Better than nothing! Just not sure who he starts ahead of. Would have preferred a dedicated centre back, but maybe a utility player suits Clement at this stage. Can’t make out anything from his stats because he has played in too many different positions.

Neraysho Kasanwirjo is set to make the move to the Scottish Premier League. Rangers FC is concrete for the multifunctional defender and there is already an agreement with Feyenoord. Kasanwirjo came over from FC Groningen in the winter of 2023, but has already left Rotterdam.
Feyenoord is loaning Kasanwirjo to Rangers for one season, which has also included an option to buy in the deal. The two-legged defender is under contract in Rotterdam until mid-2027. He has also personally reached an agreement with the Scots and is now on the plane to Glasgow to formally complete his transfer, which has until midnight."

At Feyenoord, Kasanwirjo had little prospect of a permanent base. The defender played a total of 9 official duels for the Rotterdammers, but was unable to impress. Feyenoord loaned him last season to SK Rapid Wien, where Kasanwirjo managed to win. Earlier this mercato, Lille OSC became concrete for the defender, but Rangers eventually sketched the best picture.

 

 

So: a defender who can defend!! Not The Rangers' Way, nowadays. 

Going backwards to go forward - no bad thing, in the circumstances.

Ah, but this isn't just any utility player, this is a Dutch utility player. It's very common to see them play a number of positions: Blind, Veltman, Timber, Geertruida...

Birmingham sign Rangers' Wright
 

The first done deal of the day!

 

Rangers have announced Scott Wright has joined Birmingham City on a permanent deal for £300,000.

 

Wright, who joined Rangers in 2021, scored 12 goals in 120 appearances during his time at the club.

 

He won one Premiership title, one League Cup and scored in the Gers’ Scottish Cup final win over Hearts.

 

Birmingham also signed Ben Davies on loan from Rangers last week.
