I think Clement does not care about the fee. He wants them off the wage bill, and in Cantwell's case out of the dressing room, as a priority.

There's nothing farcical about it. 

 

We don't want to pay the money or we don't want them around.

 

Lukaku and Sterling don't play for Chelsea because they want rid of them. Osimhen is not playing for Napoli because he wants to leave. Juventus are not playing Chiesa because they want rid of him. Sancho is not playing for Man Utd because they want rid of him.

I've always said that Hagi isn't mobile enough for a Clement player, IMO. He did have Hagi available for a chunk of time when he arrived but never used him that much. I might be wrong as he was injured around that time, too, wasn't he?

 

It's a combination of that and the increase in wages that is causing this scenario.

I’d say comparing our position to these clubs is nonsense. They can afford to do this. We can’t. No point in us paying Hagi to do nothing basically
