We have 3 1/2 months until the transfer window opens again. We should be trying to arrange deals for young up and coming prospects now and have them ready to go in Jan.

Yes, we can attempt to pacify some fans with a short term Aaron Ramsay type signing that won't help in the grand scheme of things so I'd much rather we had a clear outline from the manager/board regarding this season's strategy. 

 

For example, I can just about stomach a transitional season where the manager attempts to overhaul the squad and reduce the budget with one eye on future windows to add the genuine quality but that has to be accompanied by progress. That might not be immediate but workrate and commitment should be evident throughout. 

 

I think the problem for most of us is that positive attitude wasn't seen on Sunday whilst fans are equally unconvinced about progress generally. In that sense, I can understand the manager referencing the Ross County win but I'd argue we should be beating them convincingly almost every single time. That's the minimum standard not a step forward to cheer.

 

This international break is annoying me more than most because I'm eager to see the reaction to Sunday's defeat and that will be interesting given Tannadice is a venue we play rarely well at, in modern times at least. There are positives to think about ahead of that: the return of Raskin, more minutes for Propper, Igamane's decent cameo, the introduction of Bajrami and a possible chance for Nana so it's not all doom and gloom requiring short term ill-thought out transfers that will just cost us in the longer term.

We do, and I think that's what we were looking for with the chap Joan Jordan from Seville.

 

But its only worth doing if its someone that's an affordable short term solution. This seasons already pretty much written off so I cant see us pursuing one at a high cost.

It seems that the the pain is understood as long as it means we don't lose to Celtic....

 

There needs to be a realism about where we are. The days of new investment coming along and sticking cash into the club to improve the playing squad are gone due to FFP. There's no quick fix.

 

That's not to say that we can't get a big improvement in the basics like attitude and fitness but it's going to be a long grind.

FFP doesn't limit investment into infrastructure though.

 

NEH was the right thing to do.

 

If we can't invest into the team due to FFP then go and redevelop Ibrox if people are willing.

 

I know people have said it's pie in the sky but still - just thought I'd mention it.
