The Summer 2024 Rangers Transfer Window Rumours and Deals - Thread

Regarding Hagi, someone on FF posted Clement's comments on the topic:

Is Ianis Hagi in your plans this season?
No, we had clearly talked with him before the pre-season already, and with his agents, about that. We need to look, like I said, at a lot of things with the club, about wages, about how many players you can have in a position, with the budget we have, and to get a budget to make transfers. It was really clear that the idea is to sell. That's what he wanted also. So, that's the clear situation.

For some reason, our problem (and one can hardly blame anyone for this) seems to be that our stalwarts of ages past, some of which we rated highly (once), doesn't attract that many buyers. Jack, Roofe, and McLaughlin saw their contracts expire, same with Barisic and Lundstram. Morelos last summer, likewise Kent, whom we paid 6.5m for.

On Sky there was supposedly a bit of talk of us bidding for Whittaker again. We've just signed a right-winger, have 2 waiting, while our left wing is down to ... Wright again. That, and we only have two recognized strikers. I wonder how many late bids will fly in for Dessers.

And now for something completely different ...

PRÖPPER ... these nice German Umlaute can be transcribed rather easily. By default, you just add an e, so if your keyboard lacks the letter, it would be

ö -> oe

ä -> ae

ü -> ue

... and Pröpper's ö would be pronounced like the first "er" in Herbert.

And lo and behold, the day was already worth it!

We've apparently received a £4.2M bid for Dessers. With only a half-fit Danilo and the unknown Igamane, it would be absolute madness to accept (unless we have someone lined up 100%).

Dessers already on 2 goals for the season, a brilliant finish that gor us out of jail in Tuesday and the important (earlyish) opener yesterday.

He does appear to score important goals.

It would be a risk but financially we should take it, IMO.

To just lose 800k on a 30-year-old rather than £5m is a no-brainer.

No, no no.. what do you know about it? I’ll be honest and say I was making the same mistake but Liam McLeod of bbc Scotland Celtsound says it’s Prooper. So that’s us tell’t.

The transfer of Jose Anthony Cifuentes, for Mars, is in its final stages The midfielder from Ecuador is expected to be in Thessaloniki on Monday (12/08), to pass the medical tests and sign his new contract
Aris are moving on several transfer fronts, with Jose Anthony Cifuentes' one seemingly ready to close The midfielder from Ecuador is expected to be in Thessaloniki on Monday (12/08) to pass the medical tests and sign his new contract

It should be recalled that the agreement with Rangers provides for a one-year loan, with a mandatory purchase option for next summer of €5 million euro!

Last season he played for the Scots and Cruzeiro on loan, making a total of 32 appearances without scoring a goal

Your willing to take a loss on your top goalscorer with no guarantee we are going to replace him or his goals? That's utter madness.

All players have a price but we can't be selling our top scorer (and our only regular scorer) for a loss.
