The examples you cite may well have similar cover from midfield or wingers. I haven’t seen enough of them to comment. Although I’m sure city and leverkusen don’t play 4 at the back?

If your gameplan is hoping your right back will be your main attacking outlet for a sustained period over a number of seasons your game plan will fail. Just like ours has.
