Gazza_8 233
No way should Geo Graham have A list status. He's been out the game for years and probably lost all motivation and enthusiasm to manage again.
Gribz 842
I like your "A" list and "B" list analogy, I see it akin to "A" and "B" list celebrities. Souness was definitely the only one in that catagory in the short list. Or, if he's a "B" list then the others are "C". I wouldn't put Moyes in the "A" list: he's less of a record than Allardyce and the latter has shown he can't easily transfer his skills. You need a guy who for a start has actually been more successful than Moyes and secondly has been so for at least a few clubs. Yeah Souness probably does make a "B" list with McLeish. Burley MIGHT get into this catergory aswell. But Billy Davies and McGhee were certainly "C" listers, with Calderwood, Jefferies and Burns being lower again. It would be interesting to see which level Dalglish and J Jordon would come in - possibly "B" list? I think Moyes has to be in the top list. He would certainly have been one of the top choices if available.

If Sir Awex Ferguson was available I'm sure he'd be 1st choice.
mainstandbear 0
I would have preferred Souness but the open minded tolerant scottish public would find it hard to have 3 ex Rangers managers in a row... best small country in the world eh? Still Burley's a good man and hopefully will have the job for a few years bringing on the good crop of players we seem to have at the mo'
Jon 0
I think he's a good choice. He has a great squad, certainly better than (apart from WS an Eck) have had. He has to build on that an keep them together. I honestly think he'll do ok
craig 5,199
A good Ayrshireman, and a bear to boot IIRC. I think he will do a good job, he will have different ideas to Eck and WS but only a fool would go into that job and completely change things overnight. Nucleus of a decent squad who have great team spirit - and if you believe the things you hear about Burley he will only foster and enhance that team spirit.

Am pretty sure Craig Burley was a Gers supporter as a kid, he grew up not far from me - actually played in the Killie Boys Club team the year ahead of me.

Apparently the SFA are all huns.
