Ross McCausland: The first through the wall?

Tbh if the lads are going to Portugal again for a pre season camp I wouldn't take him - strap him to a chair in the boot room, put matchsticks under his eyelids and make him watch Bernardo Silva compilations until we get back to Auchenhowie instead.

He's about that size; plays off the right or in central midfield, isn't a natural goalscorer nor electric with pace. But by god, Silva is a magnificent player otherwise.

I like McCausland. Gets the ball and goes for the opposition goal mouth. Somehow he reminds me of Willie Henderson. Nowhere near his pace or trickery or crossing or finishing skills. It must be the determination to get forward and never mind anything else.

Some nerd will have the stats but I was never a fan of Candeias.  Some of his crosses were up there with the worst I've seen.

Yeah. His final ball was erratic. I thought that his defensive play, supporting Tavenier, was good.

McCausland has done well in a hard first season when you consider the injuries to himself and the players around him. I look forward to a fitter better prepared version of him after a good pre season, training with (hopefully) new and improved players.
