Mind you, that could sow confusion; best to clarify you don't mean that Hero of the Soviet Union, Philby.

This is what a Rangers captain looks like and those silver things are trophies in case some of the younger members are wondering what they are.and today is his birthday 82 still a lad .

The great captains of my follow following time, Jock Shaw, Geordie Young, Ian McColl, Eric Caldow, Bobby Shearer, John Greig, Terry Butcher, Richard Gough were all leaders and drivers of men and they all knew when to be which. Souness wasn’t nominal captain but when he was on the field the only captain’s job he didn’t do was call the toss.

Poor Tavernier hasn’t got the players round him that these men had.
