pete 2,499
Police guard at training groundPolice guard at training ground FRENCH riot police were called in to guard the training ground of former Rangers boss Paul Le Guen's Paris St Germain. Tensions are running high in the capital as PSG have slumped to 18th in the French League. Eight police vans were stationed in front of the training complex at Camp des Loges yesterday amid fears hard-core fans were planning trouble. A group of around 40 angry fans had remonstrated with players on Monday, prompting club president Alain Cayzac and France winger Jerome Rothen to act as peacemakers. "We are waiting for them to come down," PSG communications officer Jean-Philippe d'Halliville said. "There will be reinforced security all week." Tolerance has reached rock bottom among fans, who feel humiliated as France's most glamorous club slide towards the Second Division , without a home win in the league. PSG has a history of hardcore hooligans, with more than 300 thugs having been banned from matches. But PSG's training ground in the countryside around western Paris is easily accessible to the public. PSG play Auxerre on Sunday and another defeat would intensify pressure on Cayzac to make a decision on Le Guen. Looks like he is living on borrowed time. If I need armed guards to do my job then it is time to quit.
Gazza_8 233
3rd bottom of Ligue 1 after a 2-1 home defeat at the weekend. Any manager would struggle to turn the fortunes of PSG around.
