craig 5,199
Even if we get an hour out of him against Lyon he will still get in there and rattle there defence, but if Cousin plays like he did against Barca then that would do for me aswell. Or the way he played against Lyon ? Scoring a peach and a great ball over the top to Beasley for the third ?

Yip that will do nicely, I didnt see the first lyon game though, but saw him against Barca and he put in a superb shift.
Frankie 8,677
I think JCD is suffering from the Gersnet header curse....
ian1964 10,777
RANGERS suffered a devastating blow when Jean-Claude Darcheville was ruled out of next week's Champions League crunch with Lyon. The Frenchman limped out of Saturday's victory over Kilmarnock with a hamstring strain and will be sidelined for three weeks. Darcheville scored the opening goal in the 2-0 win before suffering a recurrence of the same injury which forced him to miss the 3-0 victory over Lyon and the 0-0 draw with Barcelona earlier in Rangers' Group E campaign. Boss Walter Smith initially hoped the former Bordeaux hitman would be ready to lead the line against his fellow countrymen at Ibrox on Wednesday but the true extent of the damage was revealed after he had a scan at Ross Hall hospital on Monday. Rangers only need a draw to join Celtic in the last 16 of the competition although they will have to earn that precious point without their No.1 striker. Smith said: "He has a tear in his hamstring, not a bad one, but even allowing for that you are looking in the region of three weeks before he'll be back. "It's a blow to lose him again as we have only had him in fits and starts this season. "From Jean-Claude's perspective it is also a disappointing situation. He wanted to get off to a flier with us but unfortunately he's going to be out for another period." Meanwhile, Lyon have also been dealt a blow ahead of next week's vital Group E clash - with defender Patrick Muller missing the trip to Glasgow for a career saving knee operation. He will have surgery at the end of this week after damaging his knee ligaments playing a reserve clash at the weekend. The highly-experienced Swiss defender will be sidelined for six months, counting him out of Lyon's Champions League campaign and Euro 2008. Lyon already have major doubts over France No.1 Gregory Coupet, who admits time is running out for him to make his return against Gers following four months out after another knee operation.
Gribz 953
Thats a big blow. So do we play Cousin and Naismith upfront or go with 4-5-1. Personally Id look at 4-5-1 with Buffel playing off Cousin. ________________McGregor_________________ Hutton______Weir________Carlos_______Papac McCulloch___Ferguson___Hemdani____Thomson _________________Buffel__________________ _______________Cousin____________________
Gazza_8 233
Not unexpected if I'm honest. Hamstring injuries no matter how slight they are must be rested. There's no point in rushing him back for the Lyon game only to do the hamstring more damage and rule him out for longer. Get it rested and don't rush back.
juffery 0
Gribz, can't see Smith chucking Buffel straight in for such a big game. It'll be the usual team with Cousin in for the Darche.

Yeah probably but that means taking Buffel out my team and moving Ferguson there, shifting Thomson in one place and bringing Naismith / Adam in. Or Playing Whittaker / Naismith RM, McCulloch LM and moving Thomson in again with Ferguson going to Buffels place. If its between Naismith, Adam, Whittaker or Buffel then its a 2 way toss between Naismith or Buffel. People will say Naismith probably deserves a start more but id pick Buffel simply because he is more natural in the hole behind the striker and that allows Ferguson to play his natural role more while keeping Hemdani and Thomson in the team. Lyon are going to have to attack us and if Buffel is playing then we could hit them on the break.
Gazza_8 233
There will be 2 changes from the team that started against Stuttgart. Cousin will come in for JCD and Adam will come in for Eddie Murphy.
