Does it matter how play is reviewed if it continues to be done in secrecy? It will always be open to the sort of shit we saw from Collum on Saturday.

Obviously there needs to be an auditable transparent process that is clear for everyone. The issue on Saturday was not VAR. The issue was with Collum making a decision that was clearly incorrect and the lack of transparency around how Collum came to this decision and why Walsh was not given an opportunity to re-review.

The audio and decision making transparency where ever VAR is would probably be far more 'honest' if an official from each club was present to observe all decision making process. They would'nt be able to intervene or communicate with the VAR officials. Just observe and audit the process. A bit like in the movies where a police suspect is being interrogated and there are detectives standing behind a pane of glass observing.

Its the secrecy that's the issue for me with this. Collum didnt think it was a handball, ok I can accept that, he is a terrible ref. What I cant accept is that we dont know or cannot prove it wasnt checked by someone else and why the possible offside was even mentioned nearly 40 minutes later as a skin saving exercise because we all know the possible offside its irrelevant.

Surely the denial of a penalty against Celtic and the subsequent cloak and dagger cover up suggests there is something VERY wrong with VAR. It's not just a case of missing things when the process becomes steeped in denials and contradictory explanations. The problem (as it was always bound to be) is that VAR has become just another tool to be employed by corrupt officials in Scottish football.

That's more an issue with the corrupt officials than it is with the principle of VAR. Without VAR, they've got more of a cop-out that the ref didn't see it. It's the existence of VAR that's proven the corruption. Without it, it would just be another "honest" mistake.

I think it needs to be simplified and have the 3 review rule like in tennis.

Forget about these offside by a fingernail things over examining every goal to see if someone farted during the build up.

Only review incidents after a manager or captain request - will reduce the amount of VAR stoppages.

There's been a couple of incidents this season where nobody has claimed but VAR has picked up a hand ball and we've got a penalty.

Obviously tennis has natural pauses after each point. I'm not sure it would work the same in football. If the captain isn't near the ref or management are busy trying to review the incident on screens to decide whether an appeal is justified and the opposition try and restart the game to prevent the appeal could be problematic.

VAR is just another thing to analyse or argue about.  There's no less controversy about it in England than there is here.

It's all very tedious.

However you spin this, the objective of VAR is to deliver correct and factual decision making on a consistent basis. That's clearly not happening. If VAR depends on the impartiality and fairness of officials then it's probably a waste of time in Scotland. The stain of bigotry and corruption permeates everything in Scottish football and it will never fulfil its mission unless it is taken out of the hands of our domestic officials. Ergo, something is very wrong with VAR.

Yes, how dare we take umbrage at being cheated. And how dare we catch them doing it.

What ever shall they come up with next Gollum (collum) to be mandatory in old Firms ? Think it’s  time for the fans to take action as  the club can only do so much. Here is me thinking  strikes were a thing of the past , it’s things like this that we need to stand up for  if not then it will be mandatory decisions, no apologies, or appeals just fines. ♥️🤍💙
