I think Hutton had an exceptional game and is definately going to be one of the best right backs in europe if he keeps going the way he is.I'll just be glad to have watched him in a Rangers Jersey before he heads of to pastures new.

I wasn't getting at him just pointing something out.

Everyone see's these things different but the bottom line is it was given and we failed to defend the cross. Now we are out.:(

Good point and one which I think has been glossed over since the game. Even though it shouldn't have been a foul I thought it was defended quite poorly by us.

Najor understatement of the year! The defending was non-existent from Darren Fletcher!

Yep, he let Panucci get goalside of him which is criminal at that level. I thought Fletcher should have carried much of the blame for the first goal too.

Firsly Pete id be interested how you managed to think it was a free kick to Italy to start with. It wasnt even a 50/50 decision, Hutton was bundled off the ball.

Personally I think Fletcher wasnt fit and i also think he is a bit over rated simply because he is a Man Utd player. He is a handy squad player for them at best and he doesnt really stand out in games. He normally does a good job for Scotland but i dont think he has had enough games since his injury.

We still have the basis of a good young team. Once we get Quashie back to do the job Hartley attempted on Saturday we will have a more sold midfielder who can pass and tackle, which will help Ferguson out more.

Not only that, we still have a lot of youngsters to still break into the squad.

As i saw it at the time (and i am now totally saying this from memory as i have not seen any highlights since)Hutton got the ball and he ran slightly out the park. In my opinion he did what Gav has been on about, he went into the easy street mode.(Idid it i got the ball.) All of a sudden he realised the Italian player was homing in on him and tried to throw his body in to block the progress but the Italian player had more speed and therefore Hutton ran against a brick wall. For me it is a question at that moment who got their body closest to the ball and i thought the Italian had done that.

I can maybe see where your coming from that he does look like he is running a bit casual but IMO thats Huttons style and the soaked pitch didnt help him as he was making a 180 degrees turn. IMO he was just about to draw the striker in the put the foot down and take up up the wing but he was whacked off the ball. You can clearly see he Hutton is going in with the shoulder (50/50) but is hacked off the ball.

The linesman is a few feet away from it!! Unbelievable.

Fletcher is standing like a cardboard cut out when the ball comes across.
