pete 2,499
Rangers U19s 5, Invereness CT U19s 0. BILLY KIRKWOOD'S youngsters have stormed to the top of the SPL table after a convincing win over Inverness at Murray Park today. The Rangers side proved far too strong for the Highlanders as they moved above Hibs into pole position, although Caley Thistle lost their goalkeeper early in the game when he was sent off for handling the ball outside of the box. Indeed they finished with only nine men when another player was dismissed for a second yellow card in the final moments. Andrew ShinnieIt mattered little as Rangers were already comfortable winners by then blasting in goals through Andrew Shinnie, John Fleck, Danny Wilson, Giorgos Efrem and Isa Bagci. Delighted coach Kirkwood said: "It was a very good result. We struggled against Inverness last season but we produced a very good performance and to score three goals in the first half was first class. "We are nearly back to full strength now which is great because it really increases competition. "I said to the lads to keep going in the second half and look for more goals because the way it went last year goal difference is important. "It was pleasing that Danny Wilson scored again because we want to encourage the boys from the back to come up. "And it was a boost for Bagci that he scored. He has missed a few recently, but he was in the position to miss them. This goal will undoubtedly be great for his confidence." RANGERS: Gallacher; Perry, Harvey, Wilson, Kinniburgh; Kindbenditksson, Shinnie, Stirling, Efrem; Fleck, Bagci. 17 goals in two games is quite impressive.
