The colourful Mr Fairbairn did a lot of criminal defence, got himself elected to Parliament and was appointed Solicitor-General for Scotland. I don’t know if he did any actual prosecuting himself. Not really in his nature.

Oh yes he did prosecution work I seen him in Glasgow high court it was a joy to watch he was like an accomplished Shakespearian actor work was put on hold I attended for the full trial .

My father was Royal artillery for many years before the war and after.
