The SPFL sub-committee appointed to deal with the "independent" review of the SPFL are Chris McKay of Celtic, Karyn McCluskey who is a SPFL non-exec director who is a Celtic fan and James MacDonald of Ross County, so there's at least 2 of them who will be looking after Doncaster and Celtic's best interests.

Colour me shocked.

Seriously,

You have to admire the seamlessness of Peter Lawwell's approach?

Okay, we have been caught with our pants down. We will fudge an apology, pay some compensation, promise it will never happen again(ie we will ensure that we are never caught again) and, set up an INDEPENDENT review loaded with our place men.

You know all those folks criticising the Blazers will say nothing because Peter has told them to say nothing.

I was expecting a statement from Rangers regarding the settlement and inquiry. Was never gonna be truly independent but the subcommittee mentioned above will ensure all the skeletons stay in the closet.

How can Rangers gain further from this?

To see people like MacLennan and Doncaster removed would be great.  I consider that unlikely to happen.  Even if it did happen similar replacements might be found and then we are back to square one.

I don't think we can gain further but it's been a notable victory nonetheless.
