Someone like Negri, who was superb for a couple of weeks then disappears. 4M for the superb season, worth it. Over 4 years? debatable. A waster, who is one ex-player I can't be bothered with. After his injury in early Jan in his first season he managed a total of 2 goals (I believe) in his remaining 3 and a half years with the club, and a total of 3 appearances over his last 3 seasons with us.
BlackSocksRedTops 3,752
Flo was 18 million Euros? I thought he was 12 million pounds. Surely that didn't equate to 18 million Euros back then. Flo's scoring record was still decent tbh. 29 goals in 52 appearances must be up there as one of the best goal per game ratios beyond the insane figures of Marco Negri? I still think he suffered with fan feedback due to having a rather lazy style and always looking rather emotionless tbh.
Devil's advocaat 1,541
Be good to see the costs weighted to get a true level, ie a million pound player in 2000 can't really be equated to one in 2023. Which just makes most of the older ones even worse!.

I just wanted to generate a wee bit of discussion during the close season, and perhaps not spend weeks preparing...

Scott7 6,015
Flo at five or six million would have been great. Flo + Zola at eighteen million might have been worth it.
