Graeme Ro55 770
I did not think the fella Wilson did a very good job myself tbh, but to "make it easy for someone to sign him from us" seems crazy

RR will speak for himself but I took it to mean Wilson conceded a release clause to help persuade Cantwell to sign in the first place.

In the clause there could be a set figure at which once a club bids the clause is activated & player gets allowed to speak to the club and signs if they agree terms.

So this is just something Cantwells agent would insist on so he does not get priced out a move back to England. Cheers Rab

You are correct here is no evidence Cantwell has such a clause. But also no evidence he hasn’t. My faith in our former DoF wasnt great
Bill 13,717
If there's no evidence that Cantwell doesn't fly to the moon every Monday, should we assume he does?

So Ross Wilson may have agreed to a sell on clause which is common practice and he now gets criticised for this (if its true). Aribo had one and IIRC the release figure was £10M which Southampton matched and got Aribo. So Ross Wilson doesn't have a history of agreeing to "low sell on clauses".
