Ronaldo move earning £177m a year

Recommended Posts

Al Nassr is the wee Saudi club that just signed Ronaldo on wages of £3.4m per week!  Their annual revenue less than ours, home ground capacity 25,000 and TV revenue rivals what we get in Scotland, yet they are spending 10x more on one players wages per year than we spend on our entire squad. 10x more. WTF?

But will there be written into the contract a loan deal at Newcastle if the geordies qualify for the champions league.

I remember saying to my dad many years ago how can Spurs afford £99,999 for one player Jimmy Greaves and his reply was in time money will ruin the game because there will be rich and poor with nothing in between

Wow...what a way to wind down a career.

Most guys take a pay cut at the end.

I bet he averages a hat trick over there.

PLUS think of the possible tax breaks he could get working over there.

Good for him.

Guys with his wealth don't need tax breaks - will have a team of tax accountants creating all sorts of structures to ensure tax efficiency

Guys with his wealth need more tax breaks.

Nothing worse than allowing a criminal government to steal your hard earned wages without a fight.

It's a brilliant move for Ronaldo, who has an opportunity to make a big contribution to Saudi domestic football. I hope it works out for him.

I remember when players retired they were lucky to get hold of a back street slop shop
