[FT] Rangers 1 (Arfield 17) - 7 Liverpool

Recommended Posts

Playing at this level, we have to realise we'll be soundly beaten at times but it's the manner of the defeats, particularly in Amsterdam and last night, that are so frustrating.

The CL is the pinnacle of football but some of our players don't look interested.  Bizarre!

Napoli are soundly beating anything that moves.

We haven't been ourselves and are unraveling at precisely the time we come up against the best.

We can do better than we have been but the yes, CL for clubs at our level is the football equivalent of prostitution.

Can we do a Brugge or Ajax?

After 49 years of research I doubt it.

But we have to try.

Rangers need to focus on things that are actually feasible.

Like continuing to increase revenue through European football and player trading.

Equally they need to win games.  The infrastructure should have waited.  The team needed refreshing, big time.  This comes from the top.

Kent did a good impression of the invisible man last night and Lundstram kept giving the ball away in dangerous areas.

They're supposed to be two of our better players.

I blame the coach for that.

If a player has clear instructions on what he's supposed to do on the ball, he'll do it.

If you leave it to an off-the-cuff decision, in the moment, that's what happens.

I think the board were right with the infrastructure, including Youth development but the football department haven't spent their budget well.

Time to have pushed the boat out slightly IMO was after 55, ie. built on success.

Yes, but we didn't and after the sales we made last year and reaching the Europa League final and the money generated by that we should have.  Aside from Colak and Lawrence we blew good money on projects that can barely get off the bench and did not spend enough to buy first team quality where we really needed it, ACM and RW.
